It is not that often that I read straight up romance these days, as I generally sift my way through all sorts of dark and devious delights! But every now and then a girl has to read something pretty and romantic. A Time to Heal by Sara Cooper is exactly that - a nice, sweet, well-written story about Patrice and Marlon.Now, while I detest both of their names, they are two lovely people who get together and do lovely things with each other! What makes the story interesting is that among other things, the central characters are mixed race - meaning she is black and he is white. It doesn't really have any bearing on the story at all, but it is thrown in there and I expect it will thrill some people.
One thing I really like about the author, is her ability to create really interesting dialogue. The characters talk to each other in a natural, and un-contrived manner, which is quite refreshing.
I enjoyed this very sweet story, and if you are after a sugar hit then check it out!
